The casino we visited, the Wynn, even had gift shops with gold jewelry for sale. It could be that destinations like Las Vegas attract people who enjoy the glitter and glamor more than people who are more attracted to the trail. This makes sense since we see far more advertising for the entertainment in Las Vegas than the spectacular state and national parks that surround it.
