Gold Jewelry and Las Vegas Go Hand in Hand |

We spent the wweekend in Las Vegas and ventured down to the strip for an hour or so. I have never seen so much gold jewelry on people in my life. It could have been simply costume jewelry fashioned to look like gold jewelry, and there’s no way of telling, but the amount I saw on people made a big impression.
Most of the time when we travel we stick to outdoor attractions. It is much more common to see water bottles and hiking boots for us. When most people hike, they don’t wear their gold jewelry, so maybe it is more the norm than I thought it was in other types of tourist attractions. The casino we visited, the Wynn, even had gift shops with gold jewelry for sale. It could be that destinations like Las Vegas attract people who enjoy the glitter and glamor more than people who are more attracted to the trail. This makes sense since we see far more advertising for the entertainment in Las Vegas than the spectacular state and national parks that surround it. |
