gold jewelryOne of my friends used to work in a jewelry store and as a result, he took advantage of the employee discount to buy gold jewelry. One day he showed me his entire collection of gold jewelry, and I about fell out of my chair. My gosh, he had a lot of gold jewelry, and it was all gorgeous. My favorite piece was the one pictured here. It's a 14K gold pendant that I find absolutely striking. I'd never seen anything like it before. It has princess cut diamonds in it, but I don't know what the carat weight is. Whatever it is, this piece would be perfect to wear to an academic conference, especially if there were mathematicians or scientists around. They would appreciate the "x" factor. Then I got to thinking that there is probably a market for people who are into science and math for math symbol jewelry. We chatted about that for a while, and he said that he wasn't aware of any jewelry makers who make such gold jewelry. After I got home, I went online looking for math symbol jewelry and really didn't come up with much. There's an untapped niche, I believe, for this segment. I would sure love to wear some symbols of science and math, like the Pi symbol or the infinity one. I'll continue to hunt online because that's by far the easiest way to find the gold jewelry I want.
