Last time the family went on vacation we happened to stumble upon a local carnival where the women were wearing some incredible pieces of diamond jewelry. We were in a little town in Dominican Republic where once a year they have a special carnival to promote the arts and diamond jewelry is at the top of the list. The diamond jewelry gets shown in many different ways during the festivities, but our favorite was Sunday night when some of the most beautiful women in the city get to wear diamond jewelry while doing some of the most eye-catching dancing we’ve ever seen. The dancing is done at night with all the lights in the street and stores on so the diamond jewelry can shine like powerful rays from the moon. The women were covered in diamond and gold jewelry like earrings, necklaces, rings and even some of them had clothing completely covered in diamonds—we are still not sure if they were real. At one point they turned of all the lights on the street and began to shine one bright light at this lady that was dancing a solo and she looked like an absolute ray of sunshine as the diamond jewelry glistened with her every move.
