gold jewelry                           Gold Jewelry

This morning my daughter asked if she could borrow some of my gold jewelry to wear while having her senior portraits made at school today. I almost started crying when she came into my room this morning to ask if she looked ok for the pictures. She looked beautiful and when I told her so, she asked if it would be possible for her to borrow two pieces of my favorite gold jewelry to wear in the portraits. I know that it was difficult to ask to borrow them, because in the past, this particular gold jewelry has always been off limits. They are both pieces that her grandmother gave me when I was a teenager and aren’t something that I let out of my sight usually for very long.

I asked her a million questions about not losing the gold jewelry and if she would promise not to let anyone else even try it on and she said all the right things, so I told her that I would trust her with the pieces and I knew she’d be responsible and do ask I ask.  Now all I can do is hope that she does.  She’s growing up so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital and now she’s borrowing my gold jewelry.
