For me there is something very special about the gift of gold jewelry because unlike many other types of present the recipient gets to keep it forever. I have received gold jewelry gifts from my parents, my husband and other friends and relatives. I treasure every single last item of gold jewelry that I have ever been given. Each gift is a token of familial, platonic or romantic love. Hence each time I wear an item of gold jewelry that someone else has given me I think about the person that gave it and the relationship I have with them. For example I still have a pair of gold earrings that my parents gave me when I graduated from university. Whenever I wear those earrings I remember how proud I made them that day and how pleased they still are about all that I have achieved.  Gold jewelry is all about love, relationships and very precious memories. I can’t help being sentimental about it.
