Last night I overheard my husband talking to someone on the phone about how diamond jewelry is a girl’s best friend. At first, I wondered who he was talking to about such a subject, since he’s definitely the last person I’d consider an expert on diamond jewelry, but as I continued to eavesdrop on the conversation, I realized that he was talking to my brother.
Apparently my brother had done something to get himself in the dog house with his wife, and he was trying to find out from my husband what he should do. My husband told him about a great place online where he could get good prices on diamond jewelry and that he suggested my brother check it out. He also suggested that while he was waiting for the diamond jewelry to be delivered that he take my sister in law out for dinner and maybe even buy her some flowers. I couldn’t help but laugh at my husband, who does the exact same things when he’s in the dog house, although the only jewelry he’s given me has been for our anniversary. I didn’t let him know I was listening, but I can’t wait to ask my sister in law about it.
